Blue Rock

The Blue Rock View Apartments site is located on the western edge of Salinas, currently developed with several buildings that house multiple families. The Blue Rock View Apartments water system serves the multi-residential community of 11 residential units. The community water system includes a well, well pump, pressure tank, and branched water distribution system. The nitrate level of this local groundwater source is above 50 mg/L NO3-N which exceeds the State Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) set at 10 mg/L as NO₃-N. This water source is also of high salinity (>1000 mg/L total dissolved solids (TDS)) above the recommended level of 500 mg/L TDS for drinking water. The community derives its water from a local well. The community wastewater is discharged to a septic system. With a deployed water treatment system, the well water is fed to the treatment system which then supplies the treated water to the community pressure tank. The residual from the treatment process is discharged to the community septic tank.
